alien attack

Here is Maizie and David at
our China Group Halloween
Party. She is an alien in her
spaceship and David is her
trailer park abudctee--complete
with mullet.

The other pictures are from
Macbeth--conjure up your own scary thoughts
from the Masquer's production here.--Help Me Hence HO! The production was for a highschool I work for, when not on mercenary Halloween costume duty.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!

The halloween party has come and gone. We had some great costumes and I thought I'd share them with you all. Remember the theme was Plan Your Demise.

This is Joy, she is wearing the latest in roadside memorial fashions.

This is Holly, she's sad because she came in 3rd place in the Ice Skating Championships. She slit her wrists. very sad.

This is Stuart. He went hiking. He had a little run in with snakes and scorpions. Poor Stuart.

And this is Scott. He went dancing and got into a
little trouble when the disco ball fell from the sky. Scott will dance no more.

There were many more... gunshot victims, a chef killed by his employees, an IKEA employee killed in a horrible explosion... but I won't take up your time with the horror. If only we all had listened to the gypsy woman who warned us of our horrible doom. Alas, Madame Vera's prophecies fell on deaf ears.

HAPPY HALLO-
WEEN EVERYONE!!!

It Pays to Have Connections

Presenting Gretchen the fluffy-white-cat-with-pink-ears-and-a-collar-with-a-jewel-in-it, made to order by costume designer Lisa BB. Gretchen was not lacking for ideas or direction on this, so Lisa and/or Connie may have to offer her an internship in the future. Thank you, thank you, thank you, Lisa! Gretchen is thrilled. She called Lisa and left her a thank you message, closing the call by wishing Lisa a "happy barfball day." Now that's gratitude.

Big Savage Tunnel

Last weekend Stuart and I took a bike trip in hopes of seeing some good fall colors as well as the Big Savage Tunnel. The tunnel is part of the Rails-to-Trails (converting railroads into bike/walking trails) that stretches from Pittsburgh to Washington DC. We've biked many different parts of the trail but hadn't been to this section yet. Apparently the tunnel was one of the last parts to be completed. We started in Meyersdale, Pa and biked 9 miles south to the tunnel. The tunnel itself is 3,300 feet long, lit with orange lights, it's a little spooky and very cool. Halfway through the tunnel, we run into a friend of Stuart's from Frostburg, MD! The last time we saw her, we had all talked about the tunnel and now a month later we were accidentally meeting in it. Do-do-do-do Do-do-do-do (that's twilight zone music).

We dragged Lisa back the way she came to the other side of the tunnel. There were some killer views (over their shoulders.. see... see). We shared our beer with her (what, you don't bike with beer???) chatted, giggled at the people in their spandex, and then walked back with Lisa thru the tunnel out the other side to some great yellow trees.

The end. There's a great little 12 min doc on the tunnel if you're interested.

Okay, gotta run, have a party to clean and decorate for. I'll be posting pics from the party and expect to see pics of you all (some of you ARE dressing for Halloween I hope) and/or your kids in costumes.

MYTH BUSTERS!

So, Myth Busters are coming to Purdue this Sunday. Anyone want to come? I can get tickets.

Looking forward to your response,

Bob

p.s. you can get your pictures taken with them, and also help them blow things up.

(p.p.s. even though it's true that Myth Busters is coming to Purdue this Sunday, it's still Bob's desperate attempt to get people to come to Indiana....)

Wouldn't you help this man?

This is Robert. Robert has been working on the new show, VIVA LAUGHLIN, all summer... and all fall... He has gone to editing bays on weekends, read endless drafts, watched countless rough cuts, sent billions of emails, and actually traveled to Laughlin... all to bring you an hour of entertainment. This Thursday. On CBS. Please, for the love of God, tune in so we can have Christmas this year.

If you love it, episode 2 is this Sunday. I know you're already watching CANE & MOONLIGHT. And for the ladies out there, the guy on MOONLIGHT is quite a looker.

Okay, that is my plug of the day. Robert has now given me a shiny quarter.

I don't know how you all have so much time to post and you all have children. Maybe when you have kids, you learn a whole new method of time management. If there is a secret that you parents have, please share. I could write the self help book and make millions. Royalties you say? I would put all of you on the annuity plan of course, at $2 a month (like Ross).

Anyway, I have finally resurfaced to read all of the posts. It seems Ross and Galen have finally come to light and Anthony added a comment. Yeah! We need Michael Barbella and Bob Brown too. Hey has anyone asked Doug Bietsch to post? I would so love to know what is happening with him and Rabbit.

Bob M- the last I checked, England was not a third world country and even third world countries have high speed internet connections, so there is no excuse.

Anyway, life in Delaware doesn't seem as exciting as where you all live. (Yes I know that violates some grammar law and I apologize to all of the English Majors.) So I want to make some excursions this spring. Well, that is if my job survives the hostile takeover.... My company is being bought by Siemens. They are a German company and we hear that there is a German financial person assigned to every department. I guess his job is to shout "Nein" all the time. That is the reality of working in the corporate world. My teacher friends show great sympathy by saying.."yeah, I have tenure. So sad for you." Thats okay, if I get downsized, I am moving in with them or one of you so laugh all you want.....

So if you know of great events, festivals or museums or other things that could be an overnight or weekend trip from Delaware, let me know.

Penn State Game!

Jeff and I went to a Penn State game this weekend.

Tailgating is serious business. I'm always in awe when I enter the stadium and realize that there are over 100,000 other people there.
They won! We were scared of the Wisconsin mascot- the badger. Hide your children.

HALLOWEEN PARTY!!!

Hi all.... I have a Halloween Party every year and all Masquer's have an open invite. I emailed the invite to most of you, but some of the emails I have no longer work.

So here's the invite, if any of you find yourself in the area, stop on by.

Bob, Don't Make Me Drive Out There

Bob.....Bob, Bob, Bob. The whole POINT of the group blog is so that you can post your photos YOURSELF. You don't need to email them to me.

Oh wait, I mean, in order for me to post your pics, simply send me a check for $10 per photo, and you'll be all set.

And don't think that by deleting your previous improper use of the blog, you can get out of that 10 page paper.

What's up with me?

A couple of you have asked what is up with me. Well I am suprised you haven't seen it in the news.... maybe you have heard of a little national lottery thing called Power Ball.... yep you guessed it, I was a recent jackpot winner. Don't worry though I was smart and took the annuity payout over 20 years. So that's three dollars spread out over 20 years. I can't wait for that first monthly installment. I'm going to rub it in my boss' face as I staple my resignation letter to his desk! Not to worry, this sudden influx of cash will not change me, although I will have to hire someone to post on this blog.

By the way Scott, you asked for recent pictures, here's one I took in August in Atlanta:

Please Help!

This is the one day of the year that Lara lets me out of the basement. I'm a little fatigued but the fresh gruel has done me well. Of course it's hard to eat with the duct tape on my wrists but I manage. Of course, it would be slightly more bearable if that @??!! McCauley wouldn't keep telling her to punch me. He's a cruel one. Never trust anyone with Scott in their name. Never.

I tell you, I'm just a mere shadow of the person I used to be.....

Actually, like Bob, I'm just trying to figure out how this blogging thing works. Lisa (aka Trixie in Technical Support) pulled a fast one saying I was on the list, but I wasn't. Did anyone else have to send her cash to get on "the" list?

I've been told that I have to pay her "per word" so I better wrap this up. I'm posting a picture that, despite my high-brow Shippensburg Etchewkasion, still makes me giggle. Ah, the arts.

Another thing that makes me giggle (ok, well the one I can write about): I remember a party at Ross' dad's cabin. Ross, Joe and others were playing poker for dry pasta. Somewhere deep into the evening it transitioned into pretending that you were cracking your nose, neck, or whatever by chomping down on the dry pasta to make a sickening cracking sound. I remember everyone escalating the challenge to make the funniest gesture to match the sound. I honestly don't think that I have ever laughed that hard.

My sides still hurt. Or, that could be from Lara punching me.

Theories on What's happened to John

Has anyone noticed that John is missing lately? Lara, conspicuously came to Connecticut without him. He has not been seen making comments on this blog.
Possible Theories:
A. He works for the government and stumbled upon some real X-file and is now living on Andares Three in the Andromeda Galaxy.
B. After, gulp, 20 years of marriage Lara's had enough. See that boat? Convenient "boat
accident".
C. The children have actually voted him off of the "Penninsula".
D. He really is busy at work. come now.
E. He is off on a voyage of discovery-- midlife crisis which cannot be solved like the rest of us with alcohol.
Mere theories. ....or TRUTH. you decide.

OK Let's give this a try.

So this is my first effort at blogging, so go easy on me. Here is a picture I came across the other day... makes me smile.

Improper Blogging

Ok, Bob.
I know your brain is full because you have a PHD. We might have to fly Harrison out to the chicken farm to explain how to post to a blog.

Once you get to the blog, you have to Sign In. You can only sign in to the blog with the email address that you registered on Google with. It's true. Ask Lara.

Once you are signed in, click on New Post.
You can write stuff. You know, writing. I think you might be able to do that.
The posting screen has an icon that looks like a little picture. If you click on that, you will get a pop up menu that allows you to select photos from your computer. Click on Save.
When you are all finished, click the orange Publish Post button on the posting page, and Bob's your uncle, you can mock the rest of us.

Denise and family trek thru Pittsburgh

On Saturday Denise, Mark & Emma made a pit stop for a visit in Pittsburgh. It was great to finally get to meet Mark and Emma and see Denise again. Emma was a joy, very cute, friendly and sweet. We had lunch, took a walk about the neighborhood and then headed to the play ground.

We only had a short amount of time, but I did manage to gain some influence on Emma. I taught her how to shake her fist and yell 'YOU ROTTEN KIDS'. I'm so proud.

So next time you're in the area, feel free to stop by. We'll feed you, corrupt your children and if you're good.... we'll take you to the playground.

You'll Never Know Just How Much This Means To Us

Today, a big box of birthday goodies arrived for Maizie from Aunt Lara & Uncle John. Gretchen sent her kitchen playset for Maizie to have...which she loves.

Liam even included a present for David. I can't say how much he loves it.

Maizie has a great time playing with the Beethoven playing cow that Gretchen's Barbie helped pick out. We can't get enough of battery operated singing toys, although this was the first to delve into the classical genre for toddlers.

Of course, it's no surprise that Maizie's favorite toy was the plastic zip lock bag that the kitchen utensils came in.

Thanks to all the Lutz-Scotts for such special gifts!!!

Try again. I put an apostrophe where there shouldn't oughtta be one. DOH!

Not much time

You caught me in the middle of prepping the house for sale. We are planning (at the moment!) on moving to Lancaster and downsizing a bit so Gwyn can spend more time with Joshua. This is at least the third plan, coming after plans to move to Santa Fe or Phoenixville.
So Josh turned three in August and is around 40" tall. My hope is that he likes basketball and gets to wear #95- since his height is on the 95th percentile for his age.
I'm teaching again after a stint in a non-profit, then as a stay-at-home-dad and holistic health counselor. (More on that later) Gwyn is a program director at an environmental non-profit but she's looking for something else in the Lancaster area.
Gotta go- more spackling, sanding and painting to do. I'll let you know where we land.

ps- no need to comment on the highlights in my hair. I've been getting those since before I knew you.

If Not Then, Now

I DO have a stack of pictures that belongs to Chris. And wait! There's a box of Lara's videos from Shippensburg shows in my basement. (Insert Evil Laughter Here), My nefarious plot to eradicate any incriminating images of myself is working.
So here's Lara and Maizie.

And here's Chris, Jeff & Maizie. And no, I did not have anything to do with the ill fated ending of Nora.

Besides, it's time to see some more recent photos. Like of Scott in a suit and tie, or Denise in a mini van.

Reggie

This is our dog, Reggie. She's almost 6, 1/2 border collie and 1/2 golden retriever. She loves water and catching frisbee.
This is starting to sound like a singles ad....
Lookout, the giant dog on the left is going to eat that tiny boy!!

Update on Pets

I think I gave all my college pics to Lisa, because I don't have any.
so...how about a current update on pets.

Jeff and I have two little anoles names Mabel and Taffy. They aren't much in the way of cuddly pets, but they're interesting. We had another, Nora, who had a frightening death.

Needless to say, I miss dogs. Boots was the ultimate dog, I know. Still miss him terribly.
