BB in Hollywood

A few weekends ago we had the pleasure of entertaining Lisa & Maizie while they were in LA for the day on the way to exotic ports of call in Mexico. Rob & I learned a lot that day: how to fold up a stroller, how to install a car seat, and that it takes twice as long (but it is twice as much fun) to do things with a toddler.
We first tried to convince Maizie to ride in the back, but as you can see from her expression, she would have none of it.

Thankfully, when she had her first taste of Cheesecake Factory cheesecake, she (& Lisa) got over it.

Our day was full of excitement from a whirlwind tour to a dramatic Hollywood ending. Luckily, we got to catch up in between & luckily for Lisa & Maizie, they got to recover on their cruise.

Rites of Spring

The breezes are blowing spring all over Connecticut today.  I spent the afternoon with Maizie and Monty in the yard.  It made me think of Shippensburg springs, when we were 'studying' for finals, but mostly just lolling in the grass outside of Lackhove Hall.

That's Glenn Rutter and me, Barb Horn in the tiger stripes, and Michael Barbella and Ross in the background.

Classy shades, Ross!

I think International Male still sells Glen's bathing suit.

Hey, Somebody put a dog in my pool!

Costumes for Dance 08

Hi all, thought you might like to see some costumes of mine that I designed for the spring faculty dance concert at Muhlenberg. We sent the pc to ACDFA (American college dance festival assoc.) and out of 34 pcs this was one of 2 that were selected to perform at nationals in June.
Meanwhile, we open Love's Labour's Lost this Thursday and if I can survive tech, then the semester is almost OVER!
Love, Constance

Hi all... that's right, you all new this day would come sooner or later... I'm being arrested. On June 18th the Muscular Dystrophy Association will be taking me from work (YEA!!!), arresting me (BOO!!!), taking me to a restaurant/bar (YEA!!!), and putting me in jail (BOO!!!).
Clearly I'm a little conflicted about this.
Apparently I'm stuck in jail until I can raise the bail money to get out! Now, I know what you're thinking and NO you can't donate money to keep me in jail!
So, if you are able and willing, I'd appreciate any amount you can donate to the MDA. ($5, $10, $25, $2,600... you know, whatever)
You can donate at the following link:
Thank you all!

Rodents caroling...

Sorry Lisa, someone has also created a festive rodent scene for their holiday displays. The added backdrop and scenery is nice too.

Nothing is original anymore.

I don't wanna work/I want to blog on de job all day

Saturday May 3 I'll be on a road trip to State College. The Pennsylvania Newspaper Association's Keystone Press Awards Banquet is at the Penn Stater, and I'm receiving a first place award for best music beat coverage at daily papers with circulation under 20,000. It'll also be up to me to accept and bring home my newspaper's four other awards.
The award was a shocker after 8 years of being mandated to enter these stupid contests without so much as an honorable mention to show for it.
Anybody live out near the Penn Stater? With gas being what it is, I'd like to do more, after making that bear of a drive, than hang with a bunch of newspaper geeks.
Good thing I have a 4 gigabyte mp3 player. But I do still enjoy tuning in radio stations when I'm out of town, despite big corporations destroying the beauty of terrestrial radio everywhere.
