Dont' go tellin' your kids that Peer Pressure is no big thing

Okay so I gave into the pressure to post. I have been avoiding it because I don't have an interesting photos of family or children and I didn't get my masquer photos as part of the divorce. Just kidding. Well not really, but I should be able to acquire them soon and then look out.
So you might be asking yourself "why the goats?" Well, I was at the zoo recently and saw a bunch of goats in an unsupervised petting area. The parents standing next to me sent there 2 yr old son into the pen alone to pet the goats. Well, as he was whacking them on the butt, I had a horrible vision of the goat standing on it's back hooves and throwing a karate chop or two. I was thinking, "what parent would let their child pet the goats alone?" So, since Denise posted the pic of her daughter petting the goat, I'd thought I'd share. But...Denise, being the uber-suburbanite-mom that she is, she supervised her child with the goat.
I would like to add that I did attend the soiree in Connecticut to celebrate Lisa and David becoming parents. However, I am conspicously absent from the photos. Hmmm? Trying to forget that I was there? Too bad your stuck with me now, you sent me the link to this blog.
Oh and if anyone goes to Philadelphia again, call me. I live 30 minutes from Philly.

Beam Me Up, Scotty

I had just assembled these little mementos as some incentive to get Scot to speak up. I suppose that I shouldn't have to post them since he's done the right thing. Except that I know Stu & Vera will LOVE to see this side of Scot.

The Squirrel King makes his first post (about time)!

Okay, okay... I've been slacking, but I have been enjoying the posts immensely! It's great to see pics and hear what's going on with all of you. I don't have any of my old Masquers' pics scanned.. but will look into getting that done. I do have some various pics of Masquers' on vacation and will post those soon.

I thought I'd start off with a little bit about what's been going on with me. The quick rundown is that I'm still in Pittsburgh. I've been with my guy Stuart going on 10 years in March (I'm pretty amazed by that). He's a good man with a great sense of humor (please keep the wisecracks to yourself). He has a beautiful daughter Vera, who turned 7 this past spring and has Just start 2nd grade. (7? we've been dating 10 years?, yes the math is right.. it's a long story, but a happy one I can relate at another time). I've done my job of corrupting Vera, much to her dad's chagrin. Although he does enjoy when she turns it back on me!

Okay, the first pic is Stuart and Vera on the ferry ride over to the island of Vinalhaven, Maine in July. We spent a week there with Stuart's family and had a great time. Stuart took me Kayaking on the Ocean... I think he's trying to kill me.

The second picture was taken in June above the New River in West Virginia. This was taken the day after we did our 6 hour white water ride with another couple. I didn't fall out of the boat once, although I was pulled out, several times. Did i mention that Stuart was trying to kill me?

The last pic is also from June and it's Vera showing off how proud she is over the table her and I painted. Done of an original design by miss V herself.

I'm hoping to drag some of you out to Pittsburgh someday to meet these characters or on the next mass-Masquer's vacation, I'll drag them to you. Either way, you are all welcome for a Pittsburgh visit anytime you're in the area. We'll give you the royal treatment (Stuart's a great cook, and I've actually gotten quite good myself).

My best to all,

Scott

PS I've shown the various pics that have been posted on here to Stuart and Vera, they seem to find them quite comical. That pic of me dancing alone... what kind of spasm was that?

A Quickie...

Hello all...isn't this great...what a fantastic idea. I thnk about catching up with everyone regularly and have only been able to connect with Denise - and she had to move from the West coast to Chicagoland to do it! I want to share some of my favorite pics...mostly family - I will have to open the archive to get some good history...

Motivated by my fear that the vernacular in Constance's 'hood has been heavily influenced lately by the mennonite mafia, i've set aside my attempt to ressurect jon perini from the masquer-dead, and resolved to learn to use the scanner to make Trixie sorry she reminded me I have 300 blackmail-worthy photographs. I've just been so busy turning my kid into a hippie, and playing 'pearl the landlord' over & over as an attempt at on-the-job training of a 2 year old. And still thinking of trading in the cat for livestock, as I am now a redstater Christian Mother. Regarding the previous krinerdiner coment, dinner that evening was meatloaf and peas. I recall this fact with clarity because dinner every evening was meatloaf and peas.

Sharing IS Caring

Please don't make me have to make this face again. It hurts. If you don't have time to put up photos, just leave a comment. It's very easy. Even for those of you who may live in very rural Red states, or even in cities where you hear people say 'How bout dem Stillers'. At the end of every post (that's the thing you are reading right NOW, you will see a little word that says 'comment'. Just click on it. That's where you take the mouse (not the one the cat just threw up in front of you), push it down, and then, just like that, you type a nifty little message....or even a recipe...how about a bowling score?
