Roommates Reunion

Today Joe Mitchell and I got together for Brunch. Unlike some of you, Joe and I, both, had lost touch with all of our college friends. Thanks to Facebook, we found that we both lived in the Atlanta area. This was our first time seeing each other again, after what... 17 or 18 years! We met in Marrietta Square, half way between his Downtown address and my northern suburb of Acworth. The best part was hearing him say "Kimmie!" (I don't allow people to call me that any more - but it sounded wonderful from Joe.) This was the best because although he looked older (and I am sure I did too) he sounded the same and I was instantly transported back to my Junior year and our house on Orange street.

We talked (fondly) about Lynn and Edward, Jeff and Lynn Bayes and Doreen. We both missed they all. We talked about the Blog and Facebook and how wonderful it has been to reconnect with all of our old friends. We also talked about our journeys over the past many years; mine from Harrisburg -> Tucson, AZ -> Atlanta, GA and his from PA -> San Francisco, CA -> Miami, FL -> Atlanta, GA and how we both started at the bottom of our companies and have worked our way up.

Unfortunately, Jerry Dorley couldn't make or it could have been a mini-Masquers Reunion. But it was great to see Joe and we are both hopeful that now that the gang is all together (at least virtually) we will some day have a full Masquers Reunion!

p.s. Happy Birthday Lynny!!!

Hey Kim & Joe! So great to see you guys getting together. Joe, hope life is treating you well! We always do the Joe-dance when the Peanuts Christmas music is playing. Really. Even this past year. A couple of times. No one could do it like you!

I am so jealous of my old roomies who live so close together. I'm so glad you guys were able to get together. I recently had lunch with one of my old professors from grad school and that was great...so I know getting together with old roomies must be awesome!

Kim and Joe!
Wow, and there appears to be no snow out that window...
Wish we all could get together.

My all-time favorite Joe memory was a costume party in January '89 during set up for "Don't Drink the Water." He went as Chubby Checkers (sic.) by cutting a massive hole in a white T-shirt and taping checkers all over his bare belly. What a scream!

Christine, There is definitely NO snow here in Atlanta! You may find it hard to believe, but I get quite jealous when I see blog pictures with snow. You don't know what you miss until it is gone.

The first year I was here in Atlanta ('96), it did snow, those big flakes that are fun to watch, but don't really stick to anything. People panicked! They actually, stopped their vehicles on a major road and got out and stared at the sky! It was ridiculous, so I guess I should be happy it doesn't happen often!

Hi everyone! This is my first post to the Masquers blog.

It was great brunching with Kimberly! I hope we can do it again soon.

I trust everyone is doing well. I've enjoyed reuniting with some of you on Facebook. I will pay more attention to this blog! Should I upload some of the pictures I posted on Facebook to the blog?

Bing, you made me laugh with the Chubby Checkers. I forgot all about that outfit. Next time, I'll do the same thing, but with dominoes instead and be Fats Dominoes.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, CATHERINE!! I hope it's a nice one! and, I got the Facebook message. :-)
